It is possible that they are used in the dice or card mini games. I am unsure where these small portraits are shown. Portraits are found in four directories (in my case stored in drive D: ):ĭ:\Eras 2.8\RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\PORTRAITS\64ĭ:\Eras 2.8\RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\PORTRAITS\128ĭ:\Eras 2.8\RESOURCE\Textures\INTERFACES\PORTRAITS\256ĭ:\Eras 2.8\RESOURCE\Textures\BATTLE_INTERFACE\PORTRAITS I havn't found the heroFace files yet, but I am currently enjoying playing the game as the Devlin Blaze model, which I like much more than the main 3.Ĭharacters, both playing characters, officers and other NPC:s (non-player-character), have four different kinds of portraits, although only main characters and officers display their two large portraits. So, you can be a fat, bald, merchant if you want. Models are located in (Playlogic\Age of Pirates 2\RESOURCE\MODELS\Characters). Changing heroFace and heroModel, you can use any model in the game. <Īdditionally, you can edit any of the heroes or add more. So, by changing, hero_qty, all 18 of the characters in the list become selectable as main heroes when you start a new game.
Ps_hero_qty - number of pseudo-main characters (there may be shown as quest characters in the game, only male main characters are present)
What it doesn't tell you in the manual is that you can also use this file to add main heros to the game. Of the manual states that by editing (RESOURCE\INI\texts\english\HeroDescribe.txt), you can add custom officers to the game for you to find and recruit.
